Arabic Translation Milestone
By Tom Castor | January 3, 2020 | News
We have written in several previous posts about our Arabic Project. While the project will take some time to complete, we do have reasons to celebrate along the way. We arrived at one of those milestones the last week in December.
With the help of Samya Johnson of Call of Love Ministries (COL), we were able to identify a competent Arabic translator in Egypt who will begin work on the text of the Travel Guide to the Bible in early January. This significant step is the first phase of the translation process. After the translator completes the initial draft of the translation, a new team will conduct two translation reviews before the book goes to the design phase. The team at COL will review and evaluate each edit and design phase.
When the translators and designers complete their work, they will send the book to COL for final approval.
In the first outreach phase, COL will advertise the book to its television viewers. Those who request the book will be sent the eBook at no charge. After an assessment of the demand, a print run will follow.
While this phase of the project is taking place, the television programs based on the book will go into production.
Like many projects of this nature, there are many variables. We understand at the outset that the schedules and deadlines will need adjusting along the way. But we have high confidence in the team at COL, and we believe that God will give us all that we need to see this project to completion.
