Books Arrive in Uganda by the Thousands

Karamoja, located in northeastern Uganda, is home to the Karamojong people and is known for its strong pastoral traditions and close-knit communities. Local churches play an important role in spiritual growth, education, and community life. The initiative in Uganda was initiated under the guidance of our ministry champion in Eastern Africa, Marwa Mwikwabe, who has multiple connections among the Karamojong churches.
The Karamojong language, spoken by about 700,000 people in Karamoja, northeastern Uganda, belongs to the Eastern Nilotic branch of the Nilo-Saharan language family. The community has roots in migrations over 300 years ago.

The project, which included the translation of both The Jesus Story and Simple Truths for the New Believer, was completed in June. Books were printed in Kenya in July with a total print run of 10,000 books. In early August, Marwa traveled to Uganda to distribute both books to a wide range of local church leaders. Because the books use simple language and place a high value on clarity, Marwa believes they will be helpful tools for discipleship, Bible study, and leadership development in local congregations.
We continue to marvel at the growth of Clear & Simple Media books in that part of the world. Thank you to those who support the work prayerfully and financially. God is at work in East Africa.
