Those who have been following us closely will know that I “moved” to Vietnam in August of 2025. Within weeks of my arrival, we began praying about publishing more books in Vietnamese. But before the project could start, we needed to put books into the hands of Vietnamese pastors who could read English to see which they might find most helpful.

That process went surprisingly quickly. As did finding someone who had a theological background and the language skills to do the translation work. We have written before about how God provided a competent translator.

Once the translation was completed (early January), we began securing a designer and identifying a printer sympathetic to what we wanted to do and capable of printing books in the quantities and with the quality we needed. Again, finding the designer and securing a professional printer happened much more quickly than I had anticipated.

Then came the approval process. As we reported in March, the process, while not unreasonably complicated, often takes an unreasonable time (at least to a Westerner).

February came and went. March. April. May. And then, when everything had gone so slowly, we got word from the printer that permission had been granted, and we needed to print the books “right away.” What ignited the urgency? I didn’t ask. But within just a few weeks, Simple Stories from the Life of Jesus and The Jesus Story books were on the dock, ready for shipping.

Distribution will roll out over the next few months. The first delivery headed to the province near the Cambodian border, where we have been involved since November of 2025 [Full story HERE]. Then to churches and church-planting networks in the south and central highlands.

Thank you to those who prayed. We managed to receive a very high-quality set of books at a surprisingly reasonable cost. Now pray that each person who will receive one of the books over the next few months will understand what they read and meet the Savior of whom the books speak.
