Simple Answers for Ethiopia

By Tom Castor | September 16, 2025 |

Back in February, we told the surprising story [HERE] of a request to translate our book, Simple Answers to Not-So-Simple Questions. While progress has been slow, it has nonetheless been progress.

Here is the latest correspondence from our translator and project manager, Tewodros Abera (Teddy).

Hello Tom,

Hope this message finds you well. I’m doing great thanks to God. I’m here just to update my progress. I am a little bit behind from my plan due to my own new situation (transition from school to work). I have send to my friend back home to write the first draft of Amharic manuscript so that we will start seeing it. Waiting them to respond me. I will let you know when I have it in my hand. Pray for me.

Amharic (አማርኛ) is a Semitic language spoken in North Central Ethiopia by the Amhara. It is the second most widely spoken Semitic language, after Arabic, and the official language of Ethiopia. Amharic is also the official or working language of several states beyond the Amhara Region. Amharic has been spoken in Ethiopia since the late 12th century and is the language of industry, the legal system, commerce, religion, communications, and the military. There are approximately 25 million speakers of Amharic in various countries worldwide, primarily in Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Please join us in praying for Teddy and his team as they work to complete this seriously complicated task.
