At the end of August, Dieudonné Somé, one of our representatives in Burkina Faso, served as a plenary speaker at a large Youth Conference in Ouagadougou. More than 1,000 Burkinabe youth (ages 18 to 30) gathered for several days of worship, teaching, and encouragement. Dieudonné and his team decided to put a tool into the hands of those who attend that would allow them to “stretch” the impact of the gathering. By the end of the week, 1,500 French copies of Simple Truths for the New Believer (Vérités Simples Pour le Nouveau Croyant) were in the hands of every young person in attendance at the conference.

Dieudonné writes:

I hope you are well. The distribution of booklets is well gone. Everyone was very happy. You are thanked. Many leaders expressed the need for more books to support their work.

Attending that Conference was the Director of Compassion International for Burkina Faso. He expressed to Dieudonné a desire to have access to more books to use in their Compassion projects. Compassion is a Christ-Centered, Church-Driven, Child-Focussed ministry that is at work in over 29 countries. Some of their projects in Burkina Faso have more than 250 children. They wish to distribute Simple Truths to children in their projects and use it as a teaching tool. They have requested 2,000 books in order to cover all of their projects country-wide.

We are already working with Dieudonné to see how we can fulfill that request.
