Arabic Books in the Hands of our Partners

One of the ways to assess one’s progress is to mark milestones. Last year, in August of 2020, we were able to count another one – the completion of the initial Arabic translation of the Travel Guide to the Bible. That, of course, is not the final step in our process. Because we believe that our subject matter (the Bible) must be approached with great care for detail, we initiated a field-testing process, using multiple Arabic readers.

Our readers may recall that we started this translation project in mid-January of 2020. While there were some delays due to the COVID-19 virus, the translators in Egypt worked diligently to complete the work. When the translators completed the draft, our friends at Call of Love Ministries then engaged in a meticulous edit of each line ( a 2-month process). While their editors reported being “very pleased” with the quality of the translation work, there were still critical adjustments to be made. We also had to find designers in Egypt (where the translation was done) who could collaborate with our original designers in the United States. While those adjustments took much longer than expected, we completed the final translation and design work in June of 2021 and today, the first shipment of books are in the hands of our ministry partners.

Please join us as we thank God for the work of the translators, the test readers, the designers, and the editors have done. Please pray that God will use this book widely to “help people read the Bible and help them understand what they read.”
