A Note of Encouragement from John Frame

By Tom Castor | September 30, 2017 |

The Travel Guide to the Bible is the newest publication from Clear and Simple Media. The book is a 270-page introduction to the Bible for people who are new readers of English and have little or no background in the Christian scriptures. As with everything we write, we attempt to put what we write into the hands of discerning readers to help us assure that we are theologically accurate and faithful to the teaching of the Bible.

Dr. John Frame is Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. Clear and Simple Media first connected with Dr. Frame in 2014 during a visit to the Florida campus to spend time in the library during research on a writing project. He invited us to his office for a conversation, and he took an interest in the work we were doing in Vietnam and other places around the world. Since that time, he has provided advice and encouragement. He has even agreed to review our writing in places where we felt that his perspective would help us.

Here is an excerpt from his latest note to us after reading a section of the new Travel Guide to the Bible.

Dear Tom,

Delighted to hear from you and to see the latest fruit of your labor in the Lord. Looks wonderful. Thanks so much for the encouragement too. Great to know that my work has helped you in this wonderful project.

In Jesus,

John

We are deeply grateful for friends like Dr. Frame who have helped and are helping us pursue our desire to be “linguistically simple, theologically clear, and biblically faithful.”

Chapters from the Travel Guide first appeared serially at www.asimpleword.org. The book was printed in May of 2017 for limited distribution and field-testing. A second press run is set for October/November at OM Press in Hyderabad for distribution in India
