How Do the Books Help the Church? (an answer from Myanmar)

By Tom Castor | March 11, 2026 |

Today, a second book (The Jesus Story) has finished the design phase and is on its way to press. Here is the latest update from our champion in Myanmar. What you may find most interesting is the answer to a question we always ask when we launch a project: “How will the books be used, and how will the books benefit the church?

Dear Tom,

The Jesus Story God’s Promise in Burmese is ready for printing. I am glad for God’s guidance that the two of yours are available in Burmese. Thank you very much for your kind assistance. I praise God for using you and your team members so that many Burmese-speaking people will be able to read your books and benefit from them. I pray that God will allow you to write some more books.

If God is willing, I will bring the two books to the printing press tomorrow.

You asked how the books will be used and how they will help the church in Myanmar.

Actually our two congregations and I are planning to use the Jesus Story God’s Promise as an evangelism tool to Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus and other non-Christians here in Yangon and its surrounding regions. I believe that other churches here in Yangon would like to use it in the same way.

And our two congregations and I are planning to use Simple Stories from the Life of Jesus for a Sunday school course when the book is published. So it may be our one year Sunday school course. I don’t know how other Christians here will use it for sure. I will recommend it to them to use it the same way. The book can be used as an evangelism tool as well because the sixty stories of Jesus clearly explains that Jesus is fully God and fully man who is the only Savior of the world.

Thus, from my own perspective, the book will be well received by many Christians here in Myanmar. At the same time I truly believe that the two books will help the church in Myanmar in three effective ways:

1. they will help her know God more clearly,

2. they will help her know the Scripture more clearly, and

3. they will help her know more clearly how to witness for Christ.
