Tay Ninh: Roofs, Wells, and Open Doors

Rarely do projects we partner with show results quickly. But with phase one of our project along the Vietnamese-Cambodian border, we saw wonderful results within days.

We discussed the project just days ago HERE.

Today we received the first report from Dat, the pastor who is coordinating the partnership. Pastor Dat traveled to Tay Ninh on Wednesday. Here is his note.

I left home early this morning to go to Tay Ninh. Pastor Tin and his board of elders took me to the families where they will use the funds to help them with wells, roofing and flooring.

I was deeply moved at how poor they are. Their living condition is lower than the bottom.

Rest assured that the funds CSM provided will be well-spent for those in need. Here are photos of the church workers removing a ruined metal and installing new roof.

Clockwise: Upper left – Removing an old roof. Right – Roof panels that could not resist the rain. Bottom left – New roof installed.

The development and benevolent projects have already led to gospel conversations. Soon, Pastor Tin will launch a concerted church-planting effort in this village, discipling those who believe through the Vietnamese translation of Simple Truths for the New Believer, first translated into Vietnamese twenty years ago.
