Increasing Opportunities in East Africa

By Tom Castor | February 4, 2026 |

We have often referred to our partners in various countries as “champions.” God has provided us with many of those in surprising ways and in surprising places.

One of those champions is our friend Marwa Mwikwabe. He lives in Nairobi, Kenya, but he has influence far beyond that location. In fact, he has helped us expand Clear & Simple Media’s influence not only in Kenya but also in Nigeria, Niger, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Malawi.

If you have been following the news, you already know that our small catechism-style book (Simple Truths for the New Believer) has been published in over 60 languages, many of which are available for free download on our website (https://asimpleword.org/downloads). This month, we are adding three new languages (Chiyao, Karamajo, Pokot) and printing up to 10,000 copies for networks in Malawi, Mozambique, Uganda, and Kenya.

What follows is a recent text from Marwa. Perhaps he can explain it best:

Greetings Tom,
Good morning over there!

I have few updates to share:
1. I will be receiving the translation of Yao, Karamoja and Pokot files by mid this month. I am scheduling to format and design their covers in the remaining half of the month so that by March, we will have them ready for Print.
2. This is how my print plan looks like even as I seek good rates and quality printers for our books:
• March 2026 – Print 3000 copies of Colourful Jesus’ Story – Both in Swahili and Tigrigna. This is because we are looking forward to share them with Kids during Passover Kids camps in most parts of Kenya and Ethiopia. I have pastors who have already shown interest in using the books during the Passover Holiday in April.

• April 2026 – Oversee distribution of the Jesus Story books. Cover and share testimonials from the field.

• May 2026 – Print and ship Pokot Books, Kenya – 5000copies for each title.

• June 2026 – Print and ship Karamoja Books to North Uganda – 5000 copies for each title.

• July 2026 – Print and ship Chiyao Books to Eastern Malawi – 5000 copies for each title.

Special notice:
Over the weekend I met the Missionary working with the Orma people, ni Coastal Kenya. He informed me that he will be much interested to use Swahili Version of the book than the local language Orma. This is because the language is difficult to read and has no much literacy level in the region. Therefore, I advise that we don’t project with that instead, he will ship some thousand copies of Swahili version while going back to the field. He is currently in Nairobi for a 2-months rest.

This is Missionary Doncliff, who serves among the Orma people in Coastal Kenya. Ormas are classified as an unreached people group in Kenya.

I received Marwa’s text today. Tomorrow we travel to Canada to participate in Missionfest Manitoba. A few days after the conference, I will speak in Regina, Saskatchewan, and 48 hours later, I will land in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where I am scheduled to be for the next several months. All the while, our Champions are at work in West Africa, East Africa, Myanmar, Vietnam, the United States, and Canada, using Clear & Simple Media tools to reach people we never imagined we would. All of that amazes us, it humbles us, it makes us deeply grateful to God – and for people like you, without whom none of this would be possible.
