Good News from Fada N’Gourma

One of the goals of Clear and Simple Media is to put user-friendly discipleship material into the hands of grass-roots church planters and pastors – books that are linguistically simple, theologically clear, and biblically faithful. In June, we completed the first phase of printing our “little book,” Simple Truths in Gourmantché.

We were able to make a trip to Fada N’gourma in Western Burkina Faso in June. We met all of the primary leadership of the SIM Gourma churches and delivered 5,000 books.

Early last week, we received a note from Nebié Badiou in Burkina Faso. Nebié is looking after all of the translation and printing projects there. CSM has completed seven translation projects there thus far with one more in process. Here is part of Nebie’s message.

“When I was in training with T-Net in Ouagadougou, I met with the Vice President of SIM churches. He told me that he started using the book in his church with 41 people. Four of them gave their lives to Jesus. He told me that, in the next meeting of the Board, he will suggest that in all of the SIM churches, the book must be used to teach to Christians before baptism.”

SIM has been working in Burkina Faso near the borders of Niger, and Mali for 75 years or more. There are many churches (Nebié says over 200) among the Gourma people. We look forward to hearing more stories from these churches as the books get into the hands of more and more churches there.
