”For the First Time in My Life…”: An Afghan Update
By Tom Castor | December 17, 2024 | News
One of the most encouraging parts of doing what we do is watching as God brings us new ministry partners who share our values and priorities. Over the past two years, one of the most exciting partnerships has been with Shoaib Ebadi and Afghanistan Next Generation. They have done some incredible work among Afghans, both in Afghanistan and around the world in the Afghan diaspora.
We received another report from Shoaib today, so we thought we’d share it.
Hi Pastor Tom,
Here is an update on what we have been doing.
We have created A Simple Word website in Pashto one of the official languages of Afghanistan in 2024. Most of Taliban and religious leaders in Afghanistan speak Pashto. We have created social media pages for A Simple Word website in Dari. We were posting Christian messages from the website to the social media sites.
Also, I shared and distributed Travel Guide to the Bible .pdf books in Dari and Pashto in three conferences for Afghan Christian leaders in Germany and Greece. I sent the .pdf version of the book to Afghan Christians who live in Afghanistan and Pakistan and to Afghan Churches in India. One Afghan Christian said that for the first time in his life he saw a detailed explanation about books and individuals in the Bible in his mother language.
Next year, I am planning to create a weekly devotional for the website in Dari. Our next goal is to complete the audio books in Dari and Pashto for both websites. Thanks for supporting the work to reach Afghans with the Gospel.

While modern technology has its downsides, it provides us with unprecedented access to people and places, in the blink of an eye, with a simple keystroke.
Pray for the hundreds of Afghanis who are hearing about Jesus and learning the word through the ministry that Shoaib leads. We feel privileged to be a part of it. And because we are, so are you.
