Farsi Translation underway

By Tom Castor | December 10, 2016 |

The process of finding and retaining competent translators was completed earlier this week and the translation of Simple Truths into Farsi has begun.

Farsi (sometimes called Persian) is spoken today primarily in Iran and Afghanistan. There are also ignificant populations of speakers in other Persian Gulf countries (Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates), as well as large communities in the United States.

The “little book” will be first used as a training tool for Iranian Christians who are currently living as refugees in Turkey. Once a small number of books are in print, CSM and the local trainers in Turkey will work to develop ways for broader distribution. Many Iranians have access to the internet and, while the risk can be quite high, there are ways to access Christian material even inside this Muslim country.

The translation project has a target completion date of February 1, 2017.
