CSM Has a New Partner in West Africa: The 6° Initiative
By Tom Castor | December 18, 2019 | News
For some months now, Clear and Simple Media (CSM) has been discussing a project partnership with the 6° Initiative. The 6° Initiative (6DI) is a ministry of Converge IM and is one of their major initiatives in Africa.
6DI is a church planting movement focusing on the unreached people groups just north of the equator in West Africa. This area spans the balmy African coast that has been greatly impacted most by Voodoo and the exportation of precious human life through the slave trade. JJ and Melissa Alderman, 6DI’s founding missionaries, are partnering with national leaders to plant churches in the least-reached cities of the region. A concentrated church planting movement within these culturally significant cities serves as a launching pad for ministry into smaller communities. Currently, the five projects within the 6DI are: Togo Church Planting, Benin Church Planting, Togo Palms Camp and Institute, Deaf Project, and Vocational Training.
When CSM completed the French translation of the A Simple Word website (www.véritésimple.org), we looked to offer the site for use in several countries in West Africa. During a conversation with the Aldermans, we agreed to build into the website the capacity for users in Benin and Togo to communicate directly with the 6DI team members in those countries via both email and WhatsApp. This will add to the network we have already established with our team in Burkina Faso.
6DI will launch the project using social media ads allowing users to connect with a link that does two things. It provides a free download of the book Simple Truths for the New Believer in French (HERE
). It also allows them to provide information or ask questions so that the 6DI team can follow up with them. The goal is to help 6DI’s work to expand and also allow more people to have access to the articles and books available on the French site.
The people at 6DI have a deep passion to reach and disciple the people of West Africa. CSM is pleased to be able to help.
