Clear and Simple Media in Port-au-Prince

By Tom Castor | March 15, 2017 |

Clear and Simple Media will be traveling to Port-au-Prince April 11-13, 2017 to distribute copies of Simple Truths to churches and Christian schools there. This “evangelical catechism” gives a basic introduction to the Christian faith using a traditional Question & Answer format. The Haitian-Creole translation of the book was completed in the fall of 2016. The distribution will focus on the churches and schools in Cité Soleil, one of the most impoverished and densely populated areas in the city.

Currently, 90% of the schools in Haiti are private schools, and even though the average tuition for basic education is about $150 USD per year, many of the families in Cité Soleil cannot afford to send their children. Several of the churches there have started schools, many waving tuition costs, to address this need. Simple Truths will now become part of the curriculum in some of those schools.

The first print run of 1,000 books will come off the press in the next two weeks. Pastors and church-planters hope to use them to introduce basic Bible doctrine to new believers in Haiti.

Note: a copy of the Haitian-Creole translation is available for download at www.asimpleword.org.
