Mid-November marks the launch of a new project for Clear and Simple Media (CSM). On November 12-13, Chandan Kumar Sah and the Empower Bihar church-planters will hold a conference in Darbhanga, Bihar, India. CSM has agreed to provide copies of the new Maithili translation of Simple Truths to the 300 church-planters in attendance. The books will them be used for a period of field testing. Once the resulting edits are completed, CSM will begin work on a larger publishing project in both Hindi and Maithili.
Bihar is a state in eastern India. The Bihar plain is divided into two unequal halves by the river Ganga which flows through the middle from west to east. Bihar is one of India’s poorest states, with stark social inequality.
The church-planters in Bihar are exceptionally passionate people and God has used most of them to start multiple churches in Bihar. At this writing, we are not certain how large the combined Hindi/Maithili project will be, but the most conservative estimates are over 20,000.
