If you follow the CSM news closely, you will know that I have spent 9 of the last twelve months in Vietnam. While we are pleased to report that, as one parishioner put it, “joy has returned to The Well.” Attendance grew. People were baptized, joined the church, and began to serve. While all of that is what we had hoped and prayed for, we were concerned that a prolonged absence from the US might negatively affect our primary ministry—Clear and Simple Media. While our project support did take a slight downturn, 2026 has been a remarkable year in other ways.

After returning to address some unexpected health challenges with Lee, we began to assess the past few months. To our surprise (and delight), we have had one of the most productive times of outreach in our history. With only two exceptions, both of which were projects in India where we twice delivered more than 100,000 books in Hindi, the past six months have been wonderfully productive.

Here is what that list looks like:

4,000 books (Burmese) in Myanmar

4,000 books (Vietnamese) in Vietnam

10,000 books (Tigringa) in Ethiopia

10,000 books (Swahili) in Kenya and Uganda

10,000 books (Hausa) in Nigeria and Niger

10,000 books (Pokot) in Kenya and Uganda

10,000 books (Karamoja) in Uganda

10,000 books (Yao) in Malawi

4,300 books (French & Lyele) in Burkina Faso

1,000 books (English) in Canada

In the last eight months, we have translated, printed, and distributed more than 70,000 books in nine (9) languages. These have all gone to church networks, pastors, evangelists, and church planters. They have been distributed in conferences, evangelistic crusades, camps, and village-to-village outreach projects, as well as schools sponsored by Compassion International.

From the reports that we have received, more than 200 people have come to put their faith in Jesus Christ, many of them in predominantly Muslim communities. CSM books have helped reach the lost and have become a “go-to” tool for discipling new believers as they begin their faith journey.

We thank God for His gracious work in people’s hearts and for using some of the words we have written to accomplish that work.
