By Tom Castor | June 5, 2017 | News
June 19-21, 2017 the Honor-Shame Network will gather a learning community from North America and around the world—”professors and educators, pastors and thought leaders, cross-cultural workers and creatives, professional practitioners and others” – for their inaugural conference at Wheaton College near Chicago.
Clear and Simple Media will be attending with representatives from 150 other mission organizations, universities and seminaries, and consulting and training organizations will gather “to reflect upon and explore what ‘honor-shame’ means for a wide range of Christian disciplines—from theology to missiology, from pastoral ministry to orality, from counseling to the worship arts.”
According to the organizers, the overall aims of the conference are to:
- Facilitate a networking and learning environment with leaders from a variety of disciplines and nations.
- Seed new teams and projects around the world—to engage in research, experimentation and the development of new ministry resources.
- Move toward normalizing honor-shame as an essential component of theological and missiological discourse—and gospel contextualization.
