1,045 Books Arrive in Pastor’s Living Room

We reported in late June that the Mizo-Chin version of the Travel Guide to the Bible was ready to print. Because of the multiple struggles our friends in Myanmar are facing, we had high hopes for the outcome, but we were also realistic. The best intentions can get sidetracked in what is functionally a “war-torn” country. But sometimes, God does things that exceed our expectations.
Less than one month after the proofs of the book came from the printers, 1,045 copies of the Travel Guide to the Bible arrived at our friend Rova’s house.
We have written of Rova’s deep commitment to helping the church in Myanmar. He was one of the first to “discover” the book, Simple Truths for the New Believer and insist that it be translated into Burmese and Mizo-Chin. He is widely connected with dozens of churches within multiple denominations in Myanmar and has used those connections to distribute thousands of books in that country.
Rova is one of our “champions.” Although rising prices required more funds than originally expected, Rova’s stewardship of this project has been exemplary.
God is doing things in places we don’t often think about in ways that can be quite surprising. This week, we got to be a part of one of those.
