READING THE NEW TESTAMENT: 1 THESSALONIANS

The New Testament is a collection of twenty-seven books. All of the books come from the first followers of Jesus. Some of the books take only a few minutes to read. But before you read the books in the New Testament, it helps to know what each book is about.

Here are a few words to help you to read the New Testament book of 1 Thessalonians. 1 Thessalonians is one of the books that Paul wrote. Paul was a leader in the early *church. He wrote many letters to help encourage the people of God. Paul wrote more letters than any other of the New Testament writers. The New Testament includes thirteen of those letters.
After you read what 1 Thessalonians is about, you will find some verses to read. These verses will help you understand how Paul wrote and what was important to him.
1 Thessalonians
Paul wrote this letter soon after he came to believe in Jesus. It gives a short history of one *church. Paul also gives them instruction on special problems in that *church. He wrote the letter to give them comfort and hope. He told them that Jesus would return some day. He wanted them to live good lives as they waited.
