Reading the Bible One Subject at a Time

By | June 13, 2022 |

The Bible is not just a book of stories. It is filled with the teaching of many of the wisest people who have ever lived. In fact, the Bible is the word of God. When we want to know how to live, we can read the Bible. When we have questions about how to please God, we can read the Bible. The Bible teaches us what God wants us to do. It tells us about what kind of people God wants us to be.

One way to read the Bible is to start at the beginning and read to the end. But you may also search the Bible to find out what it says about a single subject. Or you can look through the pages to find the answer to a question you have been thinking about.

Read About One Subject Every Day

Here are 30 subjects that the Bible speaks about. Choose a subject that sounds interesting to you. Read about one each day for 30 days. You will be surprised at how much you can learn just by reading a few short verses. The verses will not tell you every thing that the Bible says about a subject. But it will give you a good start.

After you read about one of these subjects, think about it for a while. You may want to think about what kind of things you have learned. Think about how the things you have learned can help you in your every day life. Then you may want to talk about what you have learned with someone else.

Do not be surprised or sad if you do not understand some things you read. But you may be surprised at just how clear the Bible is. Although men wrote the Bible a long time ago, it can teach us many things about how to live our lives today.

If there are words in the stories that you do not understand, check the Word Lists on this site. You may find them helpful.
